Queer Dharma

This morning, on the site for my organization "OutRites!" I got asked if I was a member of the constabulary forces. I reminded the person that, to enforce the statute, you have to be specific as to the branch of law enforcement, and explained that I was just a guy trying to get a message out.

Oh well, again...paranoia strikes in america. Must be all that Orange alert crap...keeps people scared...don'cha'know...:) :{

In other news, I have a slight cold which I plan to wash away with a coupla gallons of orange juice and fasting. (It wurx!)

They finally discovered the village that surrounds Stonehenge...funny that...any pagan worth their salt knows it's been there the whole time...but I'm not complaining...:)

It's cold here, and I wonder if it's simply the variety of caucasian blood in me that doesn't bear it so well...for example, if my blood was entirely Swedish...perhaps winter wouldn't bother me so much? But noooooo....part of my family line just had to come from Southern Europe...where the climmate is warm and growing olives and spices is part of daily life...

But, I digress. The title of todays blog is queer dharma, and, as such, I should address the topic with expedience. There's a little known fact that gets under my skin when people start discussing religion. The fact is that what are now deemed "homosexuals" were , without question, the accepted religious leaders of most tribes, peoples and cultures before the advent of monotheism. This information has been all but obliterated by the Abrahmic traditions. To the point that even broaching the topic seems preposterous in most circles. This is the fact of Queer Dharma. That queers are more in touch with spiritual matters, inherently and that, because of Western culture and monotheism, the LGBT community seems to have forgotten it's own birthright. Even on gay t.v., they divide the gay experience into Elton and Ellen...not to say these individuals haven't done important work with Gay Rights, but it's the modern image of the LGBT community that I see as part of the difficulty. We're divided even, amoungst ourselves...fighting about legislations on issues which trully, aren't anyone's buisness but our own. (ie...Gay Marriage...etc...) Nobody has the right to tell you who you can marry, why, or how...it's REALLY nobodies buisness but the people getting married!
I believe it's a mistake to fight for legislation which will "give people the right to vote" when the "right to vote" itself is meaningless, because what we're saying is "my neighbor has the right to vote on my personal life"
That's utterly ridiculous!

Anyway...I could continue, but I think I'll go that orange juice.

(Which reminds me...a moment of reflection for the Cali farmers who are going through some serious shit right now)

Peace,
Thet
